your first pairing of quotes is a great match.
ReplyDeletethe first one talks about the night and what happens. how the lizards and mice stare at Ruth May in the night. the next quote talks about coral snakes and birds with emerald beaks and butterflies like confetti.
they both talk about animals and descriptive meaning.
great ideas, can you explain why you choose them, too?
The first pair that you posted has an interesting connection or perspective and how the animals in each are viewed. The differences in the ways each are written gives a different picture and feeling to them. It seems Kingsolver doesn't go into much detail in describing the animals, but doesn't it create an equally strong picture?
ReplyDeleteI like how you compared the first two quotes together. With the animals and how they interact with humans. The sentence that stood out to me was "Like the cold confetti of Paradise."
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, why did you pick the second two quotes and put those specific ones together? They're both relating to food, but what is their significance?
